# Accessibility

This statement follows the structure expected for Dutch public-sector sites (DigiToegankelijk), even though Secure Sail Solutions is a private company.

## Conformance target

WCAG 2.1 Level AA (the DigiToegankelijk legal floor) and WCAG 2.2 Level AA (the extra criteria this origin also meets). Language of this site: English (`lang="en"`).

## What we built for

- Semantic headings and a skip link
- Text and UI contrast on the default dark theme (white and stone on `#010101`; lime `#dff140` on black for large text and controls)
- No information in colour alone
- `prefers-reduced-motion`: the hero video is hidden
- No third-party fonts or scripts. Body type is self-hosted IBM Plex Sans (SIL OFL), with a Helvetica Neue / Arial fallback. That is the legal stand-in for the licensed Helvetica Now Display stack used as the visual reference.
- Images have text alternatives
- Keyboard access to all links (there are no widgets)
- Visible `:focus-visible` outline
- Navigation targets at least 44px tall

## Known limits

- Media is decorative-documentary; we do not provide audio description of the muted loops (`prefers-reduced-motion` hides them)
- Other languages are not published yet (`hreflang` will appear when they are)
- GitLab Pages preview may not send all security headers; production nginx config is in `deploy/nginx.conf`
